 Off-Site Remote Access


**All of our library resources and full-text databases are available remotely 24/7 via an OpenAthens account.**

Off-site access is available to all Huntington Hospital employees. To sign up for an OpenAthens account, please fill out our OpenAthens Offsite Access Request Form

Once an account is created, you will have access to all of our full-text e-books and journals, clinical research databases, and much more directly from home.    

Please note: To maintain uninterrupted access to UpToDate you will need to re-verify your affiliation with Huntington Hospital every 90 days. To do this, login to UpToDate from a computer or mobile device connected to Huntington Hospital's network or WiFi. If working remotely you can go into Citrix/Cerner and log in to UpToDate from there or from your personal OpenAthens account. Your access should be renewed for another 90 days. If you need assistance with Citrix/Cerner logins, please contact IT (x5347)

 

 Finding Journal Articles

Whether using the hospital's in-house network or working from home, you can still have access to all of the library's extensive resources. If you need assistance with finding a journal article, our library staff is available during normal business hours to help you. Also, see this quick reference guide for an overview of how to find a journal article through our Ovid databases. 

 

 Ordering Journal Articles


If you need assistance locating a full-text journal article, our Document Delivery services are still available. Article requests can be made through the Document Delivery form on our website or via email at che@huntingtonhospital.com  

Approximate turnaround times for journal articles/book chapters:

  • Standard: 2- 5 business days
  • Rush: 1-2 business days
  • Urgent Patient Care: same day or next day (depending on the time of day requested)

Requests of 3 or more citations will be processed in the order they are received. We will process 5 articles per requester per day. The speed of delivery also depends upon the operational capabilities of CHE and loaning libraries. 

 

 Research Assistance


Library staff is available to help you with your research questions. If you would like to request a literature search, please fill out the Literature Search Form on our website.

 

 BLS / ACLS / PALS / NRP Manuals

 

The ACLS, BLS, and PALS manuals can be checked out from Clinical Education & Practice in the La Vina Lobby area.
