The Krames patient education material is available via Cerner:

Contains over 5,000 health education topics, including discharge instructions and medications
Addresses health literacy concerns by providing educational content that is easy to comprehend as it is written between a fifth and eighth-grade reading level
Is available in up to 15 different languages depending on the content selected

ClinicalKey - Patient Education: Infectious Disease
Over 550 infectious disease topics available. Browse A to Z or filter by title.
Languages: English, Spanish
Reading Level: 6th to 8th grade reading level. 'Easy-to-Read' handouts are written at a 2nd to 4th grade reading level.

UpToDate - Patient Education: Infections and Vaccines
Handouts have two reading levels. "The Basics" and "Beyond the Basics". "The Basics" are short (1 to 3 page) articles written in plain language. "Beyond the Basics" articles are 5 to 10 pages long and more detailed than "The Basics".
Languages: English, Spanish
Reading Level: 'The Basics" are 5th to 6th grade reading level. 'Beyond the Basics' are high school reading level.

MedlinePlus - Health Topics
Read about symptoms, causes, treatment and prevention for over 1000 diseases, illnesses, health conditions and wellness issues. MedlinePlus health topics are regularly reviewed, and links are updated daily.
Languages: English, Spanish, Armenian, Chinese, Farsi, Hindi plus 40 other languages. Not all handouts are written in all languages.
Reading Level: Summaries on the health topic pages aim for 5th to 8th grade reading level.

Find culturally relevant information in multiple languages and formats about health conditions and wellness topics. Learn about diseases, causes, symptoms, treatment, and prevention. Search by language, choose a format, or browse by keyword.
Languages: 61 languages represented; all handouts are presented in English with translation of other language.
Reading Level: Dependent on submitting organization.
